GRE :(Graduate Record Examination): It is conducted by the ETS, Princeton, NJ and is conducted round the year. Its graded on a scale of 260-340. It has three sections: Quantitative (Graded 130-170) Verbal (Graded 130-170) and Analytical Writing Assessment (Graded 0-6) and appears as a separate sectional score .

Quantitative and Verbal scores can be seen immediately after the test while the Analytical Writing Scores are reflected in the candidate profile 15 days after the test.

Registration Fee: $205.

Good score: Anything over 300 is considered a good score though cores above 290 are also given admissions.

TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign language):

It is conducted by the ETS, Princeton, NJ and is conducted round the year. Its graded on a scale of 0-120. It has four sections: Reading(Graded 0-30) Listening( Graded 0-30) Writing (Graded 0-30) and Speaking(0-30) .

TOEFL scores can be seen 10-12 days after the test while and is reflected in the candidate profile.

Registration Fee: $175.

Good score: Above 100 is considered a good score though the minimum required for admissions is usually 79.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

It is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council and is conducted round the year. Its graded on a scale of 200-800.

It has three sections: Quantitative (Graded on a scale of 60) Verbal (Graded on a scale of 60) and Analytical Writing Assessment(Graded 0-6) and appears as a separate sectional score .

Quantitative and Verbal scores can be seen immediately after the test while the Analytical Writing Scores are reflected in the candidate profile 15 days after the test.

Good score: Anything over 600 is considered a good score though cores above 450 are also given admissions .

IELTS( International English Language Testing System)

It is conducted by the IDP and the British Council and is conducted on specified dates around 5 times a month. Highest is 9 0-120.

It has four sections: Reading(Graded 0-9) Listening( Graded 0-9) Writing (Graded 0-9) and Speaking(0-9) .

IELTS scores can be seen 10-12 days after the test while and is reflected in the candidate profile.

Registration Fee: Rs.13250 (India) and an equivalent amount in other countries.

Good score: Above 6.5 is considered a good score though the minimum required for admissions is usually 6.0

SAT General: (Register www.collegeboard.org) Conducted by collegeboard.com .

Slots are pre allotted around 6-8 times in an year.

Total Score: 1600 Math: 800 reading and Writing:800. Registration fee: Around $100.

Scores appear month after the test.

Good Score: Anything over 1300 though 1200+ scores are also accepted by undergraduate admissions
